Head Waiter: £18k Basic + £2k Bonus

THOMPSON St Albans seeks a Head Waiter to manage, lead and inspire the front of house team alongside out Assistant Restaurant Manager.  You will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a 2 / 3 AA Rosette or Michelin Star restaurant.  You will drive training and product awareness to ensure the highest possible standards are maintained in line with that of a 3 AA Rosette restaurant.  You will support the Assistant Restaurant Manger as their deputy on a day to day basis and in their absence with tasks such as: daily banking, cashing up and reporting on sales numbers against the daily target and month to date number.  Responsible for booking functions, meeting with guests to discuss and recommend menus as well as overall requirements to ensure we excel and deliver on the day of the event.  With an excellent pallet and wine knowledge you will delight customers with pairings and recommendations, helping the team with their own food knowledge and descriptions of our dishes.  Relishing the opportunity to be part of a team who are literally ‘gunning for’ a Michelin star.

Phil Thompson head chef and owner, previously held a Michelin Star for 4 years.  We are a 3 AA Rosette Restaurant, won the St Albans Chamber of Commerce, Best Restaurant Award 2015/16, Best Restaurant and Best Chef award in the Hertfordshire Life Food & Drink awards 2016/17.   The role offers progression, training and mentorship, a good basic, bonus, cash tips and TRONC / service charge on top.  We are closed Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday lunch time, you will also receive another day off each week.
